6 Days Uganda Wildlife Special Safari

In these 6 days Murchison Falls and Queen Elizabeth National park safari; fun, adventure, and good feeling are brought alive in two of Uganda’s top travel destinations. You will visit Murchison Falls national park – home to the most powerful waterfalls on earth, largest and oldest conservation area in Uganda. It is situated in the northwestern part of Uganda, a 5-6 hours’ drive from the Capital city Kampala.

Queen Elizabeth national park on the other hand is the second largest conservation area, the most gifted in terms of wildlife and the most visited. This park is located in western Uganda, overshadowed by the backdrop of the giant snowcapped Mountain Rwenzori. Ziwa Rhino sanctuary is another trip highlight, located in Nakasongola district and the only habitat for Rhinos in the country. You will do game drives, boat cruises, top of the falls visit and Rhino tracking experience during these 6 days. Pickup and drop-off at Entebbe international airport.

Detailed safari.

Day 1: Arrival and Kampala city tour.

Get a warm welcome from our driver guide at the Airport. He will gladly brief you about the entire trip and Uganda as a country, as well answering all questions you may ask. If time allows and you have landed early, then you will tour the historical city of Kampala – Uganda’s biggest and busiest capital. You will visit the Uganda Museum, Local markets to purchase a few items and then the reptile village. Lunch will be around the city, before driving off to your hotel for dinner and overnight.

Day 2: Pick up and transfer to Murchison Falls National Park – Rhino Tracking.

Today, you will start the day with a delicious cup of coffee at the lodge, and thereafter checkout for a Transfer to Murchison Fall national park, a 5-6 hours’ drive. The route to this park necessitates watching busy towns, green plantations, Long-horned cows, and the scattered homesteads.

Visitors will also stop in Nakitooma, Nakasongola district for a one-hour Rhino tracking tour at Ziwa Rhino sanctuary. You will then proceed for lunch at Kabalega diners before counting off the day at your lodge with dinner, refreshment and a nap.

Day 3: Game drive and afternoon cruise. Top of the falls visit.

On this great day, leave the lodge very early in the morning to catch up with the early grazers and night hunters in the northern sector of the park. Your interest is mainly to encounter both the Common and Non-common mammals. There are also high chances of watching hippos, lions, giraffes, Uganda Kobs, and warthogs among birds, reptiles and primates all-inclusive. Follow the game search with bush breakfast and lunch.

Lunch is at the agreed picnic site, before heading for a 3 hours’ boat cruise to the world’s most powerful waterfalls. You will take photos and watch the waterfall squeezing through about a 7 meter gorge to the Nile. The deafening thunders it produces make the stay so nice and worth the time and efforts.

Other residents to look out for are Nile crocodiles, Hippos and elephants along the lake shores. The journey to uncover this national park is made complete with the visit to the top of falls, where you will also see Uhuru falls, devils’ cauldron, permanent rainbow and the raging waters. End the day at your lodge with dinner and overnight.

Day 4: Drive from Murchison falls National Park to Queen Elizabeth National park.

After yummy breakfast meal, check out of the lodge for a transfer to Uganda’s most visited savannah park – Queen Elizabeth National Park; a name after Queen Elizabeth II of England. It is a 7-8 hours’ drive, with an enroute stopover for lunch and refreshment.

Be expectant of the captivating landscape, undulating hills, rift valley escarpments, dotted homesteads and ever green plantations. Arrive at your lodge late in the evening, ready to relax, take dinner and have a peaceful nap.

Day 5: Game drive and boat cruise.

Rise to an early morning breakfast meal at the lodge, and thereafter move out for a 3 hour morning game drive in search of the mammals such as the lions, leopards, cape Buffaloes, African elephants, Uganda Kobs, Oribis, bucks and so much more, the captivating landscape, primates, birds and plants. Encountering a hunt where cats like leopards, lions and hyenas are active is a rare reward and unforgettable experience. The driver-guide will take you around the park, in addition to a scenic bush breakfast before returning to the lodge for refreshment and lunch.

In the afternoon, you will continue with fun at Kazinga channel during the 3-hour boat cruise. The boat cruise is safe and offers an entertaining opportunity of taking-in the cool breeze and watching the aquatic birds, massive schools of Hippos, giant crocodiles, and meandering waters. Before sunset, you will drive back to the lodge for refreshment, dinner and a peaceful sleep.

Day 6: Departure.

Today, wake up to a relaxed breakfast meal at your lodge, and then checkout for a scenic drive to your drop-off point around Kampala city or Entebbe international airport. The driver-guide will shortly stop at the Equator for some refreshment, shopping and lunch. This marginal line crosses only thirteen countries in the world, and experts are at the place to demonstrate what happens at this point.
